Kabhi kabhar on a rainy day

Happy rain brings back memories.. Forgive me for the spelling errors.. Don't know how to get nukta's in place through transliteration..

Peter Patter

Readers it is a beautiful morning indeed. So, I thought I would post this song I wrote some days back. Hoping it would rain. It rained today! Allow me to introduce you to Peter Patter.

As much as I remember

the sun came out to greet the day

He woke like an old monk

the feeling was going to stay

He had a lot to say..

He folded his denim legs

started climbing up the stairs,

like always..

Standing by the skyline

and that is where he prays,

on sunny days..

His guitar lost two strings

last time he went upstairs

He raised a glass half empty

spoke his morning prayers

A smile he wears..

He played the words like no one

Sang the notes again

He knew he had to hold the glass

until he drinks the rain

Birds came chasing his voice

An audience he wouldn't mind

Trees became sure louder

The wind was all so kind

The sun was going blind..

He could hear a neighbour scream

"Peter, that's enough!!"

He played and played

for a wishful trade

on a burning turf..

He could see clouds with closed eyes

all he wanted to feel

He ran towards crescendo

a deal he had to seal..

He played the words like no one

Sang the notes again

He knew he had to hold the glass

until he drinks the rain

Oh Peter! Open your eyes

Put your glass down, take a bow

Pat your back and rise

Let every inch of you

breathe this earth, this air

Take a sip of your holy prize

Beautiful surprise..

You played the words like no one

You sang the notes again

You are the sun, the moon, the stars

You are the sky, the rain..

You are the sky, the rain..

Heidi

Readers who enjoyed my first post - I am sorry for hiding all these days.

Readers who didn't - I am sorry I am back.

A dear friend of mine asked me to post my poetry and songs here. I was a bit reluctant in the beginning since I'm not a blogger but then I realised people now prefer reading blogs on screen to columns on paper.

Without moving away from today's agenda I will introduce you to Heidi.

Few months back I went to a party at a friend's place. That friend had invited another friend who walked in with his wife and his 3 year old daughter - Heidi. I believe everybody at the party fell in love with her. Only I came up with this one. Sorry I forgot to take her picture. Told you I don't think and act like a blogger.

In this party

you look for a corner

you look for a welcoming floor

You sure stepped into hearts

as you walked through the main door

Heidi! Oh Heidi!

Your yellow jacket and you

Oh Heidi!

You hop around

your shoes make that thoughtful sound

I watch you play a game that's pricey

Oh Heidi!

Heidi you gleam like a ray of light

you dance and you feel alright

you sing like a bird tonight

Oh Heidi!

Eyes full of anxiety

Oh Heidi!

Heidi the sky opens its arms

there are balloons, streets and farms

steely ways and sweaty palms

Oh Heidi!

You move your smile around

like a treasure finally found

you go round and round

Oh Heidi!

Keep the faith alive I say

there's a desert around a bay

Heidi finds her way

Oh Heidi!
